I just wanted something simple for my birthday.
I wanted to stay home.
I wanted dinner with my husband.
I wanted a creamy garlicky pasta.
I wanted the rack of lamb we got from CostCo.
I wanted a chocolate tiramisu bar cake.
Making my cake was not a simple effort, lol. But it was worth it. I was on FaceTime with my mom and sister while assembling my cake, I had baked the chocolate cake and brewed the espresso early so they were cooled down by the time I went to build my tiramisu. I whipped the mascarpone cream, cut the cake into layers and assembled. My mom said she would never make such an effort, she also thought I would put the tiramisu in the oven. I love my mom but damn.
My dinner was everything I wanted. I had an online lecture all day and once it was done my husband and I got cooking. My husband seared and roasted the rack of lamb, I mash a ridiculous amount of garlic for my pasta. Everything was delicious. My mom was in disbelief that I wanted to cook for my birthday instead of going out to eat.

My cake was delicious. My family kept joking to send them a slice through the mail.

My sister got me a bag and my mom sent me money. My husband asked me what I wanted but I only wanted dinner with him, he’s been working a lot for us and I only wanted his time. I had ordered something for myself but it’s still on the way.
I don’t ask for a lot because I’m lucky in life.
